And everyone lives. Incredible.

That must've been just surreal to witness.

Heavy. Glad that everyone lived! At least you didn't have to be witness to a horrible tragedy.

I was about a mile away from the eventual crash site. I was at a festival and the plane that crashed was delivering sky divers using sparklers. The plane caught fire. For a while I thought it was part of the show until he actually crashed and there was a fireball.

For a while we didn’t know what happened to the pilot or anyone at the site. Eventually local news picked it up.

Kind of my feelings on flying as well.

So, the pilot bailed out and let the plane crash into a house? He obviously never saw The Great Santini.

That’s crazy. Better not tell the wife. She won’t let me give my kids the sparklers I just bought for them. I’m guessing mine are a bit smaller tho

It would have been a pretty dick move had the plane ended up killing someone. There's lots of fields in that area you could aim a plane at. If he was from one of the various sky diving companies out there, my stepbrother, who used to be in flight school, said those guys are known as being reckless sometimes.

I think with smaller planes you just have to know the pilot pays more attention than the average person about every aspect of their vehicle.

The article said that the pilot landed 25 miles away from the crash site. He must have bailed out at a high altitude. Unlikely he tried to aim his plane anywhere.
